Dell'Arte International (131 H St, Blue Lake, CA 95525)

In a special co-production between Dell'Arte International and Longshadr Productions, MARY JANE THE MUSICAL 2: THE GRANDSON will premiere at the Dell’Arte Amphitheater stage in Blue Lake on June 19, 2026.

William English III will play Mary Janes grandson, Billy Jane "(BJ"). He has inherited in the land in Sohum where Mary Jane started growing in the "back to the land" movement of the late 60's and where he was born. Given the current state of the cannabis economy, he can't afford to keep the land anymore. He feels he has to give it up. He throws a party to say goodbye to the land (and the life). The party is the play. The guests at the party are the characters from his life and the work of cannabis. There will be surprise arrivals, unseen conflicts, psychedelic flashbacks, unexpected odd dancing (Humboldt style), and lots of music/songs with new and past messes revealed. There are 12 original songs locally sourced from song writers in our community about living the current cannabis milieux.  It is a requiem for the land and the legacy with the question - "Should I stay or should I go?" True "theatre of place" and an event not to be missed!

Written by Michael Fields and co-directed by Roman Sanchez and Fields. The ensemble includes the amazing band of Tim Randles, Marla Joy, Jeff Kelley and Mike Labolle with performers Shawn Wagner, Laura Murillo Hart, Lily Linz, Peggy Metzger, Evan Grande, Zera Starchild, Ben Clifton, Alyssa Hughlett, Esme Hughlett, William English III and the legendary Cynthia Martells as the mysterious midwife, Marie Devereaux.

The original songs are by local songwriters including (among others): Anna Hamilton, Joni Rose, Daryll Cherney and Michael “Tofu” Schwartz, Marcia Mendels & Chris Manspeaker, Zera Starshild, Seabury Gould, Chad Johnson, Bird McCracken, Elizabeth Mackay, Jeff Kelley, BWT, and, of course our own Tim Randles

MARY JANE THE MUSICAL 2 plays June 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, 28 and July 3 & 5.
